Launching your project
Launching your project
So you’ve built your project page – congrats! You’re almost ready to launch. But before you hit that "go live" button, take a breath and make sure everything’s in place for a strong start.
Launching your crowdfunding campaign might feel a little overwhelming, and that’s totally normal. To help you feel confident and prepared, we’ve put together this step-by-step launch checklist. Run through each item and set your project up for success from day one
Pre-launch checklist
Once you've chosen your launch day, make sure your team – and anyone else helping – has it marked on their calendars. This helps align all your pre-launch efforts and first-day momentum.
Give your project page one last read-through. Ask a friend or colleague to take a look too. Proper spelling and grammar not only show professionalism but also help build trust with potential backers.
Is your fundraising goal realistic and achievable? Remember, once your campaign goes live, you won’t be able to change your target or funding method – so now’s the time to make any final adjustments.
Preview your project page and test all your social media links by clicking the icons below your main image or video. Broken links can derail early momentum, so fix any issues before launch
Your campaign's unique web address (URL) can be found in the “Basics” section of your project builder. Choose a short, relevant, and easy-to-remember link – this can’t be changed once your project launches.
Make sure you’ve outlined your campaign communications from start to finish. Who are you reaching out to? What are you saying, and when? Having a clear strategy keeps your outreach organized and effective.
Have a collection of quality images ready to go – photos of people, places or products all work well. Consider using free design tools like Canva to create attention-grabbing graphics for social media.
Get ahead of the curve by drafting your emails, social posts, and updates now. That way, you're not scrambling to write content in the middle of your campaign.
Start engaging with your community before you go live. Reach out to your closest supporters, let them know what’s coming, and build some early excitement.
Have a press release ready to send out on launch day. Compile a list of local journalists, bloggers, and media outlets who might be interested in covering your story. The more visibility, the better.
Aim to line up at least 10% of your funding goal in advance. Having those pledges come in early creates momentum and builds credibility with new backers. Make sure your early supporters know exactly when to pledge.
Crowdfunding is exciting – but it can also be intense. Take breaks, eat well, and get enough sleep. Staying balanced will help you stay focused and energized throughout the campaign.
If you’ve made it through this checklist, you’re in great shape to launch your project with confidence. Now it’s time to hit that launch button and share your passion with the world.
Good luck – you’ve got this!
