Our vision is to create an eerie, heart-racing horror short film with a character-driven plot that shakes our audience to the core!

An unassuming Latine woman finds herself stuck in the same violent loop every single day, will she finally find the answer she's looking for and uncover the gruesome truth? 

Written and Directed by Darienne Jordan; The Lumberjack tells the story of Alexia, thrust into the repetitive throes of chaos, let's follow her chilling journey in this tale of twists and turns, gore and bone-curdling realisations!

Our story 

The Lumberjack has slowly become one our most anticipated projects, it's a film we are very passionate about and excited to share with you! Over here at DKEJ Media we love unique horror stories driven by authentic and ethnically diverse characters. Their stories are important, and we want to tell them.

Why we need your help

To achieve bringing this project to life, we need your support. Funding will help cover essential production costs like equipment, costumes, securing locations and post-production. Every contribution helps us turn this project from an idea on paper into a completed film. Even a share can help more than you know, so please help spread the word! 

We are looking to film towards the end of August, and every cent is going to ensure a smooth running production. We really cannot wait to get this story to you!

Meet the Director

Writer and Director: Darienne Jordan

Hi my name is Darienne, known to my loved ones affectionately as D. I am a Black, queer, and trans filmmaker who focuses on centering people of color in my stories. My aim is always to represent unique and diverse experiences onscreen. That passion began when I longed to see characters, that mimicked me as a protagonist. I have continued to create stories that not only achieve that goal but bring other marginalized groups to the forefront as well, particularly in genres where they are not seen in that capacity as much. It is my hope that The Lumberjack allows another group of people to feel seen and spotlighted in ways they may not have before.
