Help cover event costs for Resonance 2026!
Resonance is a one-night, all-local DIY music festival in Phoenix built around a simple idea: bring people together for the love of music, support local artists, and create something real that is accessible and motivated by connection instead of profit!
In 2026, Resonance brought together bands, DJs, live performers, visual artists, vendors, and over 48 volunteers to create a night that was deeply meaningful for our community. We are paying $17,725 directly to Phoenix artists, DJs, vendors, and sound crew, and donated $875 to Local First Arizona to support local economic development. Everything about this event was built by and for the community.
And in that sense, Resonance was a huge success!
But financially, it didn’t generate enough to cover the full cost.
We sold 332 tickets, but needed to sell 530 to break even. Because of that, there is still an $8,720 gap in covering the total event costs.
This is the reality of DIY. DIY means creative freedom. It means not compromising the integrity of the event for profit. It’s what allows Resonance to exist in the first place. But DIY also means risk.
There is no corporate backing, no investors, and no safety net. When costs go up or ticket sales fall short, there’s no one else to absorb it. The cost doesn’t disappear—it lands on the people who made it happen.
In this case, that meant the event organizer, Ash, personally fronting $11,764—using income from work and student loans—to make sure artists were paid and the event could happen the way it was envisioned.
We made a commitment from the beginning: artists and contributors would be paid fairly, no matter what.
Too often, events close financial gaps by cutting artist pay or not honoring commitments. We believe that’s exploitative and unacceptable. So instead, we’re choosing transparency—and asking for your help.
If Resonance meant something to you, if you believe in independent art, or if you want to see events like this continue in Phoenix, we’re asking you to help us close the gap.
Every contribution goes directly toward covering the costs of this event.
Independent events don’t struggle because they lack value or community support. They struggle because the systems around them aren’t built to sustain them. But with community support, they can.
Help us close the gap and keep Resonance alive. Everyone who donates $50 or more will receive a ticket to Resonance 2027.
