Student and School Financial Support

Aim

The fund raised will be used to provide financial support to parents who struggle to pay tuition for their child(ren).

   The institution, Ecole Fondamentale Les Joyaux, since its foundation in 1991, has been providing strong intellectual underpinnings to the children of the community for a successful post-secondary education and career. Of those many alumni’s, the founder’s daughter is one, who is now a Medical Doctor actively serving her residential region. To make this success a more more realistic outcome to most, extra-curricular activities such as pottery, agriculture, recycling art to name a few, have been recently implemented to equip students with tools to be self-sufficient in a country where opportunities are few and far between. 

    Over the years, the Haitian community has endured much due to the never-ending socio-political and economical tension in the country. People in all groups have been affected by the instability and insecurity in the capital and its surroundings. Businesses closing, workers losing their jobs, people no longer roam the street as freely to find opportunities, and they are left to stretch thinner the already strained resources they have. 

   Through it all, the school has never wavered from its commitment to the kids for a better future. When parents are unable to pay , debts are “forgotten”, students still learn, take their exams and move up. When one show up with little academic supplies, the school provides from what is available to give. All the while, the expenses remain if not increased. Teachers to pay monthly and on time, school supplies to replenish, postponed maintenance that can no longer be pushed back to repair.  

   The circumstances mentioned above are the reasons for requesting your support. While the dream is to build a nation of educated people leading Haiti into a flourishing and prosperous society, the reality is that our institution cannot do it alone. It is for that reason Ecole Fondamentale Les Joyaux is asking for your support to help make this dream a reality, one student at a time, one family for a better Haiti.
