Aim

We want to create a woman lead project that tells the story of this incredibly strong woman. Our goal is to enter it into the Oscars.

About Me & The Team

Hi! I’m Isabella Blake Thomas, and I’m the writer and director of Pippa, a short film based on the true story of Phyllis “Pippa” LaTour, a young British spy who risked her life working for the Special Operations Executive during World War II.

I’ve always been drawn to stories about women who quietly changed the world, and when I discovered Pippa’s story, I knew I had to tell it. She was only in her early 20s when she parachuted into occupied France, sent secret messages to the Allies, and lived under constant threat, all while keeping her true identity hidden. Her bravery, intelligence, and courage inspired me, and I want to bring that same spirit to the screen.

I’m lucky to be surrounded by an incredible team of creatives who believe in this project just as much as I do, talented producers, designers, and filmmakers who are passionate about storytelling, history, and highlighting women who deserve to be remembered.

Who's who

I will be playing the young version of Pippa when we flashback to see her in action, the incredibly talented Petra Markham is playing present day Pippa. Her uncle, Paul Dehn, was actually an MI6 spy during WWII. See information on him below. Other cast include Rachel Fielding who appeared in the Oscar winning short film "The Silent Child", and Charlotte Rothwell who appeared in "The Affair".

The Idea & Vision

Pippa is a short film, but it carries a big message. It’s about courage, identity, and the quiet heroism that often goes unseen. We’re creating a film that feels intimate and cinematic, combining emotional storytelling with the suspense of a spy thriller.

My hope is that Pippa will connect with audiences around the world and serve as the foundation for a larger feature film in the future. More than anything, I want people to walk away thinking about the bravery it takes to stand up for what’s right, even when no one’s watching.

How We’ll Use Your Support

Every contribution, big or small, will go directly toward bringing Pippa’s story to life. Here’s where the money will go:

  • 🎬 Production: Equipment, camera, lighting, and sound to make the film look and feel cinematic.

  • 👗 Design: Authentic 1940s costumes and props to recreate the world Pippa lived in.

  • 💡 Cast & Crew: Paying our team fairly for their time and talent.

  • 🎞️ Post-Production: Editing, sound, color, and music, all the details that make a film shine.

  • 🌍 Festivals & Outreach: Getting Pippa seen at film festivals and in front of audiences everywhere.

Why This Matters

This film is about more than just one woman, it’s about honoring all the unsung heroes whose courage shaped history. By supporting Pippa, you’re helping to tell a story that deserves to be remembered. We wanted to begin this campaign during remembrance month as a way to honor our veterans.

Thank you so much for believing in this project and helping us make something truly special. Together, we can keep Pippa’s story, and her legacy, alive.
