Requesting voluntary resource allocation for critical medical support operations for Morgan engaged in long term medical protocol.
Dear Friends,
I'm reaching out to a small, trusted circle about something deeply personal. My dear friend Morgan has been navigating her medical transition with extraordinary courage, grace, and determination. As a patient of the UCLA Gender Health Program since 2020, she's approached every step of this journey with remarkable resilience and exceptional commitment.
Over these four years, Morgan has invested an incredible sum into her essential medical care. She's endured procedures that would test anyone's limits - including a facial feminization surgery that was, frankly, brutal in its recovery. Through it all, she's maintained her independence, her career, and her unwavering commitment to living authentically, even as the social and political climate has grown increasingly hostile.
I've watched Morgan face down adversities that most of us can barely imagine. The courage it takes to simply exist as herself in 2025 - to navigate healthcare systems, to face society's judgment, to persist through both physical pain and social isolation - is something I witness daily. Operating in this environment is threatening continuity for Morgan . Yet she rarely asks for help, preferring to shoulder these burdens quietly and independently.
But the reality is stark: the medical care she needs for her safety and wellbeing is ongoing and expensive. Unexpected costs arise with alarming frequency - a changed insurance policy here, an unexpected move, an out-of-network specialist there, a medication suddenly no longer covered. Each setback chips away at the financial stability she's worked so hard to maintain.
Right now, Morgan faces several critical needs:
• A second facial feminization surgery - not for vanity, but for safety and the ability to navigate the world without constant scrutiny
• Ongoing hormone therapy and routine appointments - the foundation of her medical care
• Transportation for traveling to and from medical facilities
• Temporary housing during recovery periods - because healing happens best in safe, stable environments
•Vocal Coaching
I want to be clear: Morgan hasn't asked me to do this. In fact, she'd probably be embarrassed that I'm reaching out. She values self-reliance above almost everything else and would be the first to insist that your wellbeing comes before any contribution. She only wants help from those who feel genuinely moved to give and who can do so without any financial strain whatsoever.
But I also know that sometimes, accepting help is its own form of courage. And offering help - especially now, especially for this - is an act of profound humanity.
If you're in a position to contribute, any amount would directly impact Morgan's ability to access necessary medical care without sacrificing her housing, resources, or basic stability. Even $25 helps cover transportation to a medical appointment. $50 might cover a week of medications. Every dollar is a small vote for her right to exist safely and with dignity.
If you're not able to contribute financially, I completely understand - these are difficult times for many of us. Your discretion about this private request is itself a gift, as is your willingness to simply bear witness to her journey.
For those who can help, I've set up this campaign. to ensure privacy for everyone involved. This campaign will remain intentionally small and quiet, out of respect for Morgan's wishes and safety.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, to hold space for Morgan's story, and for being someone I trust with something this vulnerable. In a world that often feels increasingly cruel, your kindness - in whatever form it takes - is a light in the darkness.
With deep gratitude and hope
