Aim
We (head organizers across KS) are heading to Washington, DC as a group to protest the horrific actions on this country.
We are heading to Washington, DC as soon as possible for five days (travel time and in case of arrest window) to join hundreds of thousands of voices demanding justice, equality, and real change. This is a critical moment in history, and it’s not enough to speak from afar we need to be there in person, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with others who are fighting for what’s right. THIS IS NOT A SIGHTSEEING TOUR, A VACATION, OR A FUN ROADTRIP TO TRAVEL. Many of us are putting our lives and jobs on hold urgently and asking friends and family to watch our children so we can do this. This is strictly BUSINESS and ACTIVISM related. All funds will be used exactly for what we are asking it for. Nothing more, and we will keep every receipt for public disclosure so you know exactly what your donation is used for.
Getting to DC and being effective on the ground takes resources. We’re raising funds to cover:

📜 Trip Overview
We will travel together to DC, take part in organized protest actions, meet with lawmakers and advocacy groups, and connect with national media to make sure Kansas voices are heard. Safety, coordination, and clear communication are top priorities. We have a journalist coming and media presence and will have both national and local media coverage.
🗓 Itinerary
•Day 1: Depart Kansas,.Arrive DC, check-in, orientation, safety prep, gear distribution.
•Day 2: Meet with state representatives and Staffers, demand action on detention centers in KS. Demand investigation into corrupt cities in KS allowing illegal ICE activities and police working with ICE when they are not contracted to do so, demand more involvement in the process and require more due process and action for public involvement and MORE. •Day 3: Major protest action.
•Day 4: Follow-up actions, press engagement, reflection meeting.
•Day 5: Return to Kansas.

💰 Projected Budget
(for 20 people)
✅ Airfare (round-trip flights + airport transfers): $8,000
✅ Lodging: $4,000
✅ Protest Gear (signs, banners, safety equipment): $1,500
✅ Meals: $2,500
✅ Emergency Fund (legal fees, supplies, contingencies): $1,000
✅ Transportation to/from airports & local transit: $500
✅ Total: $17,000

Leadership Roles:
Each leader is responsible for a specific area:
⚫️ Safety Lead – oversees medical kit, check-ins, and emergency plans.
⚫️ De-escalation Lead – trained to calm tense situations and avoid conflict.
⚫️ Recording Lead – documents protests for safety and accountability.
⚫️ Gear Lead – ensures every participant has proper protest gear and ID copies stored.
⚫️ Buddy System Lead – pairs participants and tracks check-ins.
⚠️ Arrest & Emergency Plan
If someone is arrested:
• A designated legal contact will be notified immediately.
• Copies of IDs, insurance info, and emergency contacts will be kept securely at the hotel and with security leads.
• Bail fund and legal aid resources will be on standby.
📰 Press Plan
🔵 A designated press contact will prepare daily briefs and press releases from DC to share with Kansas outlets and national media.
