Beanstalk Power builds ecosystems of community resilience with hubs combining modular vertical farming, solar energy, education and events.
I’m an ecologist, and I’ve always dreamed of building a business that functions like an ecosystem—one that nourishes its community by offering a diversity of resources and serving as a gathering place. I believe the most meaningful connections are made like friends cooking dinner together—sharing food, stories, and care. That’s the spirit from which Beanstalk Power was born.
In an era of economic volatility and climate catastrophes we need solutions that support people today.
The price of food has increased 16% in the US (18% in LA), while electricity prices increased 32% in the US (23% in LA) in just 5 years!
Beanstalk Power Hubs: Energizing Self-Reliant Communities
Beanstalk Power envisions a world where communities are empowered to be self-reliant through localized systems of food sovereignty. By combining indoor vertical farming with solar energy, our hubs can grow 100x more food than a traditional farm while using 99% less water in a closed- loop system.
Each Beanstalk Power Hub is modular and compact—built around a shipping container vertical farm—and fits in spaces as small as 50 x 50 feet. The modular design of the hubs enables them to serve as an oasis in urban or rural neighborhoods, be a resource for university campuses or hospitals, be located in vacant lots and church parking lots, or serve as an emergency management response system.
The community benefits compound by integrating innovation that magnifies the production of essential resources (food-energy-water-transportation), while providing education that generates economic opportunity.
Beanstalk Power is a place for communities to thrive:
🌸 Innovative Vertical farming in a shipping container
☀️ Renewable energy innovations
🚲 An e-bike lending library
🔧 Workforce training for adults in vertical farming and energy management technologies
🎨 Arts and science education for kids
🥬 Free food and culture events
We co-design each hub in partnership with local organizations, adapting to the needs of the neighborhood. We also help organize free food events, creating space for joy, and nourishment.
Beanstalk Power Hubs are a platform for upward mobility—through food, energy, education, and community.
We’ve Been Building the Roots—Now It’s Time to Grow
Over the past year, we've built strong partnerships in technology, education, and community. We’ve piloted our first vertical farm in a shipping container, successfully improving yield while reducing energy use. Our next phase includes automation using plant-level sensor data and refining our fertigation systems for even more sustainable growing.
Our team is a vibrant ecosystem made up of tech innovators, educators, local nonprofits, interns, and volunteers, all working together to bring this vision to life.
⚡️Launching in LA in 2025 – And We Need Your Support!
We’re ready to launch our first full Beanstalk Power Hub in Los Angeles this Year! Your support through this Crowdfunder campaign will help us:
We’ve bootstrapped to this point, Now we need your support to bring our first Beanstalk Power Hub to life! We have the solutions we need today.
Thank you and Much Love from all of us a Beanstalk Power 💚

A small Beanstalk Power Hub can offset ~20-22 metric tons CO₂ emissions per year; the equivalent to the energy 300 trees can offset/year. The upskilling impact of the workforce training programs add $500k of direct economic development impact to the neighborhood.
This is achieved with a small hub of a single vertical farm container and modest solar generation unit, and just 3 eBike rides a day. The emissions avoided are primarily a result of eBike rides replacing car travel, local food production replacing conventional supply chains, and water efficiency.
Beanstalk Power’s community hubs show us how small, distributed solutions can have enormous cumulative power to unlock transformative potential at the neighborhood scale.
Our pathway to progress is through partnership!
