Your support makes a difference
Aim: Beanstalk Power builds ecosystems of community resilience with hubs combining modular vertical farming, solar energy, education and events.
I’m an ecologist, and I’ve always dreamed of building a business that functions like an ecosystem—one that nourishes its community by offering a diversity of resources and serving as a gathering place. I believe the most meaningful connections are made like friends cooking dinner together—sharing food, stories, and care. That’s the spirit from which Beanstalk Power was born.
Beanstalk Power Hubs: Energizing Self-Reliant Communities
Beanstalk Power creates community-powered hubs of food sovereignty. By combining indoor vertical farming with solar energy, our hubs can grow 100 times more food than a traditional farm while using 99% less water.
Each Beanstalk Power Hub is modular and compact—built around a shipping container vertical farm—and fits in spaces as small as 50 x 50 feet. These hubs are designed to operate on or off the grid, providing flexibility and resilience for any neighborhood. These hubs can be a solution for urban or rural neighborhoods as well as serve as emergency response resources.
But Beanstalk Power is a place for connection and opportunity:
🌸 A Vertical farming in a shipping container
☀️ Renewable energy
🚲 An e-bike lending library
🎨 Arts and nature education for kids
🔧 Workforce training for adults in vertical farming and energy management technologies
🥬 Free food and culture events
We co-design each hub in partnership with local organizations, adapting to the needs of the neighborhood. We also help organize free food events, creating space for joy, and nourishment.
Beanstalk Power Hubs are a grassroots platform for upward mobility—through food, education, and community.
We’ve Been Building the Roots—Now It’s Time to Grow
Over the past year, we've built strong partnerships in technology, education, and community. We’ve piloted our first vertical farm in a shipping container, successfully improving yield while reducing energy use. Our next phase includes automation using plant-level sensor data and refining our fertigation systems for even more sustainable growing.
Our team is a vibrant ecosystem itself—made up of tech innovators, educators, local nonprofits, interns, and volunteers—working together to bring this vision to life.
