Launching the ALEF Youth Sovereignty Academy to equip Lebanese youth in NYC with the knowledge and skills to build a free Lebanon.

Lebanon’s children are being educated in competing systems. One builds free citizens. The other does not.

The next generation of Lebanese leaders is growing up right here in New York City, and they need the tools to choose sovereignty.

For decades, Lebanon’s educational landscape has been fractured. Parallel networks have offered resources in exchange for influence, while many state schools struggle. The result is a generation at risk of losing the civic knowledge, historical understanding, and values required to build a free, sovereign, and prosperous Lebanon.

The American Lebanon Education Foundation (ALEF) exists to change that trajectory. We are a New York-based, non-partisan organization committed to educating communities, combating the ideologies that undermine Lebanon’s independence, and equipping the diaspora with the knowledge and leadership skills to drive real change.

Introducing the ALEF Youth Sovereignty Academy

This campaign will launch a focused educational program for Lebanese-American youth and the broader NYC community. Through in-person workshops, high-quality digital modules, and mentorship, participants will gain:

• A deeper understanding of Lebanon’s history, sovereignty challenges, and path to recovery

• Civic skills grounded in transparency, rule of law, meritocracy, and economic freedom

• Media literacy and the ability to counter narratives that weaken national cohesion

• Practical leadership tools to organize, advocate, and contribute to Lebanon’s future from the diaspora

What Your Support Makes Possible

With $35,000 we will:

• Develop a complete, values-based curriculum and digital learning modules

• Host 6 to 8 high-quality workshops and community events in New York City

• Produce professional educational video content accessible to the global Lebanese diaspora

• Provide materials, certificates, and modest support for participating youth

• Measure impact and publicly report results with full transparency

Why This Matters Now

Lebanon stands at a crossroads. The diaspora is one of its greatest remaining assets. Educated, organized, and values-driven young leaders in cities like New York can help shape a different future: one based on sovereignty instead of domination, transparency instead of corruption, and merit instead of sectarian allegiance.

ALEF has already built research capacity, launched a speaker series, and engaged policymakers. This Academy turns education into action at the community level.
