Hi, I’m Elizabeth Schrum, the screenwriter of the award-winning Rustler’s Moon Pilot Script, which is the adaptation of the book of the same name, written by the award-winning author Jim Jones. 

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about telling stories that explore the human spirit in all its complexities. With Rustler’s Moon, our vision is to reimagine the dynamic storyline in this Western genre through a lens that highlights not only the harsh realities of life on the frontier but also the resilience, moral dilemmas, and silent afflictions that challenge our protagonist, Jared Delaney.

Our talented team of independent filmmakers, designers, and actors shares this commitment to authenticity and artistry. Together, we’ve spent countless hours developing the script, scouting breathtaking locations across New Mexico, and crafting a world that feels as vivid and unforgiving as the era itself.

RW Hampton, award-winning actor and western artist (Wild Horses, Gambler III, The Tracker), joins us in our fundraising project as our Sheriff Averill.

The funds we raise through this campaign will be used to bring this vision to life, which begins with a Proof of Concept—the pilot episode trailer. Your support will help us secure period-accurate costumes and props, hire skilled local actors and crew members, rent historic filming locations, and cover essential production and post-production editing costs. 

With your help, we can create a pilot trailer that not only honors the spirit of the Old West but also resonates with audiences today, laying the groundwork for filming the pilot episode and a whole series, which we hope to share on streaming platforms and at film festivals nationwide.
