Readers Against ICE

Aim

We are raising funds to support immigration rights across the United States. The bookish community stands together against hate and fascism.

100% of funds will be donated to the ACLU, restricted to salaries for the programs staff working towards immigration justice. The ACLU has been vetted and proven to put funds towards their mission effectively, so we trust that they will be able to put this towards where it’s needed most during this terrifying time in the US.

The first $500 will be MATCHED by an anonymous donor!! Should we reach this goal, I (@bookishmagg) will personally be matching the next $250 raised after that.

Everyone who donates will be entered in a GIVEAWAY! Lucia Skye has generously offered to give away copies of her two books: A Wicked Dance of Obsidian and Light and A Prophecy of Chaos and Blood. I will be working out details of the giveaway as soon as we determine how donation tracking works on this platform. In the meantime, if you would like to remain anonymous on here or just to ensure you get put on the giveaway, dm me at @bookishmagg on Instagram and I’ll make sure you’re on the list.

Why Fund Salaries: Salaries for staff are SO important (and often underfunded or forgotten by donors) but are critical to accomplishing lasting change. In order for a nonprofit to achieve its mission, the people running the program need to be highly skilled, so in supporting their time, we enable experts to focus on making progress and long-term change in our communities.
