Help Molly Drive Towards Independence & Safety

Aim

I've survived abuse, gained a job, and am ready to rebuild. Now, help me overcome the final barrier: transportation to work.

At 43 I am the carrier of a chronic illness, a history of emotional, physical, financial and sexual abuse dating back to childhood, have struggled with deep depression, suicidality, social anxiety and unstable relationships - but I am not defined by these things. 

I hold a Bachelor's of English with a focus in writing and am an aspiring novelist. 

I am a music enthusiast and seek comfort in the sounds of artists like Peter Gabriel, P!nk, Green Day and David Byrne among hundreds of others. 

I hold high the value of the human emotional experience and in my work dedicated myself to serving the needs of developmentally disabled adults and children. My aspiration is to return to school in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. 

Spreading positivity, hope, kindness, curiosity, belief in self as well as political and social justice run deep in me, influenced first by my father and heroes like Fred Rogers, Carl Sagan, Muhammad Ali and Jim Henson.

I have two cats, a tabby male named Ingen and a lady tuxedo, Jinx. 

Over the last 20 years I lost myself to declining mental health, increasing isolation, a body and immune system determined to self destruct and a relationship filled with volatility and ever-increasing demands. I finally began taking steps to rediscover the vibrancy and passion that drove me as a young adult and in doing so found someone I can rely on, have pride in and strives to become the person I've always wanted to be. 

I am now at a crossroads and to traverse them, I need wheels. 

I am returning to work for the first time in 13 years and while I can rely on Uber for a short period, it is unsustainable long term. After lacking personal freedom for so long, I now find myself without the freedom to move freely, independently. With this vehicle I am not just asking for a way out; I am building a way forward as part of my community, a valuable employee, to create new friendships and pursue that which will help me, help others.
