Michael Telford has held financially intensive and managerial roles as a credit analyst, project finance consultant, financial manager, and capital markets specialist. He has been employed by or on behalf of principal investors, consultancies, entrepreneurial ventures, non-profits, large corporations, investment banks, and institutional fixed income trading operations. Michaels experience on the buy-side and sell-side of transactions is further benefited by the client perspective he gained as daily Chief Financial Officer of three non-financial services companies. Michael joined Crowdfunder following 14 months with the Iraq Middle Market Development Foundation, a US non-profit lending to private companies in Iraq. Prior, as Managing Partner of HaldaneFrontier, he provided consulting services, such as financial modeling, financial analysis, corporate strategy, strategic planning, business plan writing, and interim CFO duties, for Primavera Capital, DOCS Clothing, GreenCore Capital, Gary Capital, Tracker, and Layer 2 Communications. Previous to these, Michael was CFO of Paratus Worldwide, a start-up transportation company, for which he raised venture financing, was responsible for FP&A, treasury, investor relations, accounting and risk management, and facilitated the companys acquisition by a private equity group. As a financier and corporate financial advisor with Interlink Capital Strategies, Capital Link, and Delphos International, Michaels work included financial management and work raising money from bilateral and multilateral development organizations and private sources of capital for capital projects in challenging US and international markets. Early in his career, Michael was a mortgage-backed securities analyst, portfolio manager and fixed income trader for firms such as C-Squared Investment Group and Masterson Moreland Sauer Whisman, where he managed inventories and portfolios of debentures and mortgage-backed securities hedged with cash, futures, and options. He also wrote newsletters on US and world economies, macroeconomic policymaking, current capital markets, and issues pertaining to fixed income securities. Michael has a Masters in International Development Finance from the American University in Washington, DC and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
