In 2013, while running a successful mobile and eCommerce professional services firm, Steve founded GoCoin, the world's highest volume Blockchain payment and loyalty company processing up to 10% of the daily transactions on the Bitcoin network. GoCoin was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine as the "Hottest LA Startup" for 2014. Prior to GoCoin, Steve had a diverse 25-year career as a technology pioneer in mobile apps, eCommerce and Fintech landing multi-year contracts with industry giants DIRECTV, BlackBerry, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, TRW, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Honda, Microsoft, IBM, Wells Fargo Bank, Countrywide, Hughes, LIONSGATE Films, Creative Artists Agency and myriad state & federal gov't agencies. Steve has been COO of a publicly traded eCommerce business, conducted due diligence and made countless angel investments into startups, acted as strategic advisor to Fortune-500 C-level executive teams. Steve has delivered keynote speeches around the globe at mobile, eCommerce, Fintech and Blockchain currency events. He is often quoted in trade press and speaks at prominent universities such as USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, Chapman, Harvard, Oxford UK. Steve earned two bachelor of science degrees in Computer Science and accounting from Frostburg State University and, prior to moving to California, studied Computer Engineer in the Master’s program at The Johns Hopkins University.

Officer and executive leader for the fast growing first publicly traded (LUXR.OB) private member flash sale eCommerce company. Driving strategic growth through expanding categories; Womens & Mens apparel, Home Furnishings and Decor, Art, as well as M&A activities for the launch of new verticals. Managed existing and emerging categories and generally the glue between strategic sourcing, concierge buying, merchandising, production, finance, fulfillment, marketing, information technology and, most importantly, member care. Hired key managers and employees (roughly 40 people), established the buying teams for home and apparel, stabilized the aggressive flash sale schedule. In 6 short months grew the member base from zero to 700,000 members and over $1M in revenue. Conducted due diligence on acquisition targets and negotiated international alliances to expand into Asian markets. Exited the company's day-to-day operations as COO. Currently, helping the new interim CEO with strategic advise and remains an active shareholder.
Initially responsible for requirements analysis and solutions selection of comprehensive cross-functional multi-language, multi-currency business systems. Instrumental in the vendor down select process along with VP level Hughes executives. Overall project budget for a launch of service $500MM. Was selected to lead the in-country deployments for Mexico, Brazil and Guatemala. Responsibilities included allocation and scheduling of project management and technical resources across all countries. Provided daily reports to in-country business owners and VP & C-Level executives at Hughes.
Network & systems architecture, systems design, large scale high-availability redundant systems, data center consolidation, software development for projects that required a DOD clearance that I probably can talk about now without having to kill anyone ;-)
