Dine Like You Give A Damn!
As a serial entrepreneur, I have spent my career passionately designing, building, and branding highly compelling consumer products. My first company provided architectural design and fabrication solutions for clients such as Banana Republic, Gap, Houston's Restaurants, and Charles Schwab and forged my skills in delivering unique, $1M+ projects on-time and on-budget. By balancing an unusual combination of critical and creative thinking, I then bootstrapped Neoporte Inc from concept to an internationally coveted premium brand with an enterprise value of over $10M, and sold the company in 2008. In 2010, I launched GiviGiv, one of the first social gift apps, but realized that there was a much larger market opportunity to be seized. LivnGiv leverages the power of social media and consumers' existing purchasing behavior to generate new revenue streams for Causes, and to reinforce the fabric of communities by driving commerce to local merchants. I like to think that I bring leadership, vision, and strategy to bear in recruiting, inspiring, and managing teams.
At LivnGiv, we believe there is a new way of doing businessthat sustainability and prosperity go hand in hand. We are in love with the idea that everyone can be a philanthropist, simply by doing what they love to do. We are passionate about strengthening the fabric of a neighborhood or an entire city, and that good for everybody. By using technology to align the interests of Charitable Organizations, Local Businesses, Consumers, and even CelebritiesLivnGiv is transforming the way people contribute to the vitality of the communities in which they live and work.
I built one of the first social gifting sites to enable people to send real gifts with just a couple of clicks. Featuring restaurants and bars in L.A., N.Y. and S.F. and working with offshore developers, we built a proof of concept, which generated organic traction and revenue with a national user base. During 2 years of learning from our customers and partners, I realized a significantly larger opportunity, and pivoted out of the gift space to create a Social Enterprise platform.
As founder and CEO of Neoporte, I grew the company from a concept to an internationally coveted brand of architectural products with an enterprise value in excess of $10mm. I was instrumental in all aspects brand building, strategic partnerships; marketing campaigns, and oversaw all day to day vendor management and operations. Initiated and managed the acquisition of the company during the challenging period of Q3-Q4 2008, and facilitated the transition as CEO through 2009.
I founded and operated KHA to take advantage of emerging CAD/CAM technologies in the development of unique and complex architectural elements and multi-disciplinary projects. As the principal, I was responsible for conceiving, designing, and flawlessly executing 'never-built-before' projects the first time, on-time, every time for clients such as GAP, Banana Republic, Houston's Restaurants, and Quicksilver. Challenges included coordinating and harmonizing the diverse interests and demands of clients, architects, developers, engineers, city inspectors, artisans, and technicians to achieve a cohesive end result, on-budget, and on time.
Afflicted by visions and driven by pure passion, and a decided lack of sanity, I began building large scale sculpture for fun, and incidental profit. With favorite materials including steel, stone, concrete, bronze, I utilized many additive and sometimes subtractive fabrication techniques including welding, casting, carving, and even bulldozers and high powered rifles! With a focus on creating iconic, durable, and public works on a monumental scale, many pieces weighed in at several tons. I was represented by a prominent gallery in NYC, and my work is in many private collections internationally, and in public collections including the Cities of San Jose and Santa Cruz, CA and Charles Schwab Inc.
