The Sharing Economy for Mobile Broadband
CEO and founder of RovAir and a partner with HVS Global Hospitality Services. The 20+ years in hospitality operations and hotel real estate consulting has provided strong client relationship skills and the ability to problem solve the most challenging situations. RovAir provides a niche solution to a mobile data problem that has grown from concept to implementation, allowing mobile broadband users to share data among unrelated parties. RovAir is presently the guinea pig of this audacious application.
RovAir is a mobile internet solutions company founded in 2007 just prior to the strongest economic downturn in recent history. Despite tough times throughout the great recession, the partners were able to maintain the business. When launched, RovAir was one of the first companies in the country to rent mobile broadband devices. We allowed users to share our devices for their short term needs. The rental model evolved into a new, unprecedented service, whereby users obtain their own compatible devices which RovAir activates on an as-needed basis. We eliminated the shipping model and all of its associated costs and allow end users an alternative to undesirable contracts and limiting prepaid plans. Marketed as RovAir OnDemand, the service was the first of its kind being offered in such a virtual delivery model. The wireless mobile broadband industry is primed for a disruptive model where nearly all models are either prepaid or contract. RovAir is a revolutionary collaborative consumption model, which allows multiple users to share a single mobile broadband line in order to maximize the often underutilized data allocation. The problem we identified is that there millions of people who require connectivity for just a few days or hours per month. So, why can't we share lines among them via collaborative consumption, our web based automation achieves this function. RovAir's web based platform will provide substantial cost savings for both corporate and individual users looking to optimize their wireless mobile broadband data allocations. Data is becoming a valuable commodity. Our current project will allow our users to activate and deactivate their mobile broadband on demand through the use of our web platform, a smart phone app, or SMS.
