Gustavo Maza is a partner of Maza & Rachadell Asociados, S.C. and his practice focuses on corporate and financial matters related to the structuring and implementation of debt and equity financings, project financings, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate restructurings and joint ventures. He also has substantial experience in regulatory matters relating to banking activities and capital markets. Gustavo advises both domestic and multinational corporations, including financial entities, doing business and investing in Mexico in the corporate, contractual and regulatory aspects of their activities. Furthermore, Gustavo is actively advising entrepreneurs in the inception and execution of new business ideas and ventures. Gustavo prior establishing Maza & Rachadell Asociados, S.C. worked as a central bank attorney at Banco de Mico (1994 -1997), as a foreign lawyer in the New York office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP (1999 2000), as an associate at White & Case, S.C., and at Banco de Mico, S.A. (Banamex) first as a Senior Legal Counsel of the Treasury Unit, Securities Custody Services, Trustee Services and International Advisory (2003 Apr. 2007) and afterwards as the Business Head of the Trustee Services Unit (Apr. 2007 June 2010). He was also the Secretary of the Board of Directors and Audit Committe of the Brokerage Firm of Grupo Financiero Banamex (2004 2007). He received a J.D. degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho (1994) and a MALD degree, specialized in international finance and banking, from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University (1999). Gustavo is registered at the CONDUSEFs External Arbitrators Registry under File No. CONDUSEF/103 dated July 4, 2011. a Gustavo had taught at the EGADE (Tecnolico de Monterrey, Santa Fe Campus) and at CIDE Law School.
