Emily is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the X PRIZE Foundation, an organization dedicated to developing radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity through incentive prize competitions. In this role, she is responsible for spearheading and overseeing implementation of key strategic projects that are central to scaling and evolving the X PRIZE model. Charged with a drive for meaningful innovation implementation, she executes strategic projects that pay tribute to the integrity of the XPF heritage while launching the Foundation into a new era. The mission of the X PRIZE Foundation is to bring about radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity. We do this by creating and managing prizes that drive innovators to solve some of the greatest challenges facing the world today. The X PRIZE is viewed as the leading model to leverage the elements of public interest, entrepreneurial spirit and cross-disciplinary innovation to bring about breakthroughs that benefit us all.
Emily played a significant strategic and leadership role in the various activities required to identify, shape, design, develop and fund X PRIZE competitions across Life Sciences, Global Development & Education, Energy & Environment, and Exploration. Emily also created the ideation and prize design genesis of Visioneering - a creative two-day brainstorm process that attracts CEO's, philanthropists, innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs to generate world-changing ideas through the lens of incentivized competitions.
Project manager on the development of a new X PRIZE related to life sciences. Worked with cross-functional team from multiple organizations to design prize criteria, rules, and goals. Identified and secured buy-in from an advisory panel of experts and other stakeholders.
- Assembled and analyzed industry information (market studies, trend reports, consumer behavior and competitor analyses) in order to uncover and validate consumer insights. - Wrote strategic brand and communication plans as well as pitch documents for brands including SC Johnson, Unilever, Bayer Healthcare, Sun Life, Hillebrand Estates, Nissan, McCain.
