Zero-Energy Smarthomes. Sustainable. Affordable. Inspired.
Industrial Designer and Interior Architect who is somewhat with efficiency (energy, materials, and dollars) while retaining a sharp aesthetic eye. Founded of Acre Designs out of frustration with typical homes, maintenance and the gut wrenching feeling after seeing an amortization table for my 30 year mortgage. Andrew is also founder and designer for Acronym Designs, a modern furniture company. Before that, he worked as a designer for several companies focusing on anything from retail spaces to corporate interiors and riding lawnmowers to supersonic jets. This range of work has inspired him to view home design and construction from a different perspective with a focus on making it simpler and more efficient.
Acre builds efficient, functional, attractive, and affordable homes that allow you to focus on what matters to you: Life! Your home is a huge investment and typically dominates your financial present and future. We are working to create homes that are a lighter load on your finances, will provide freedom from utility costs and outages, and use resources carefully. We have gone about things a bit differently than most. We have rethought the use of space, common construction techniques, and how the home is powered. The result is a home as beautiful and livable as it is well-built and economical. The result is independent living. An Acre home allows you to take control of living expenses, construction headaches and ongoing costs. It insulates you from power failure and energy shortages, and reduces your overall energy use. An Acre home is more blessing than burden, allowing you the freedom to live.
