Rental assistance

Aim: I am requesting rental and other monthly expense assistance. I am 80 years of age and being supported solely by Social Security

I have recently turned 80 years of age and have resided in Boynton Beach, FL since 2008 (transplanted New Yorker)

Two years ago my rent was increased from 1365 monthly to $1,900, a 40% increase.  In addition, I am subject to a late fee of $150 if rent is not paid by the 5th of the month.  My sole source of income is $2,176 per month from social security.  Most months I do NOT receive my benefit until after the fifth of the month, subjecting me to the late fee.  In addition, I receive EBT (food assistance) of $106 per month, hardly enough for groceries!  I also have had help with my utility bill.  However, this will end in about two months.

I have attempted to find work, but as soon as a prospective employer sees me or reads my education and work experience, they can easily determine my age by the dates shown.  Who says age discrimination doesn't exist in the workplace???  Additionally, my car died about a month ago and I donated it to a veterans organization, leaving me without adequate transportation..

In addition to rent assistance, I need to pay my monthly phone, TV and internet bills.  I also need additional funds to afford better and sufficient groceries.
