Vision

To revitalize the timeless iconic sports cars of the 1950’s, 60’s & 70’s with sustainable all electronic-vehicle technology, while faithfully preserving the nostalgic driving experience for car enthusiasts worldwide.

e-Drive Retro is the first to introduce a new level of precision Electric Vehicle (EV) Drive-Train engineering combined with authentic vintage retro style to the EV market. We are going to achieve this vision by creating a disruptive new category of “plug-in” EV Conversion Services through which our clients can enjoy the turn-key EV Conversion of the iconic classic cars of their choice without any DIY garage mechanics required. For clients who don’t already own the vintage car they desire, we also offer our unique e-Drive Retro Car Concierge Service, wherein we will locate a suitable car on their behalf and manage any necessary Pre-Conversion Restoration which may be required to prepare it for our engineered EV Conversion Service. The result is a beautiful classic that remains true to its original design look and feel, as well as being dramatically more reliable, more responsive to drive, and emission free for the ultimate is sustainable e-mobility.

Imagine being able to own the sports car or cruiser of your dreams from that timeless era of automotive style and history, without the hassles of those famously unreliable drive-trains that won’t start when you want, overheat all the time, leaking fluids in the garage, etc. Not to mention the horrendous pollution generated by these cars, as well as their voracious appetites for fossil fuels! E-Drive Retro empowers a whole new ear in iconic car enjoyment – timeless style, the retro driving experience and the luxury of owning and really enjoying these unique works of automotive art – all with a clean sustainability conscience.

Strategy

By definition, every car that e-Drive Retro transforms has already been built, therefore, we don’t need the investments, infrastructure, massive costs/risks, nor regulatory burdens inherent in building of entirely new electronic cars from the ground up. Rather, we will convert the existing distinctive vintage automobiles from their fossil fueled engines into Plug-In EVs by our own using proprietary methodologies, and patentable technology, including our vehicle management software, 3-D additive manufacturing technologies, advanced telemetrics, big data collection / analysis, and global connectivity / interoperability. The cars of this era are not only timeless in styling, they are also ideal for EV conversion due to their simple robust construction, and lack of dependency on any elaborate on-board electronics originally.

As a brand, we will establish luxury lifestyle positioning that is unique in the market and complementary to the existing EV producers because we address a high-end boutique market niche which they simply do not. E.g. we don’t compete with the OEM’s for the standard consumer level EV demand; from upscale EV’s like Tesla’s sedans and SUV’s, BMW’s i-Series or Audi’s e-Tron series, down to the Nissan Leaf’s and e-Smart’s at the commodity end of the spectrum.

Our designs and supply-chain will benefit tremendously from the ongoing proliferation of EV’s from the major OEMs because of the component price compression, and public charging infrastructure expansion globally over time. We will leverage the benefits of these mega-trends without needing to invest in or take risks associated with bringing them to fruition for benefit of our firm and our clients. We don’t need to build a Giga-Factory to benefit from those built by other players in the EV industry.

Once established as a luxury lifestyle brand with proprietary high quality e-Drive Retro-fit technology, we will generalize our methodology and supply-chain and develop a franchise business model to scale operations dramatically globally. In return for upfront and ongoing franchise fees, we will teach and certify select automotive service agencies in targeted markets so they can become capable of performing e-Drive Retro-fits using our methods, tools, software and supply-chain for all the materials.

The business can profitably expand globally and perpetually by continuously adding new products and services for our expanding base of EV Conversion clients. Once they become a client, our selling opportunities continue indefinitely post-EV delivery, including: branded retro-style merchandise (period clothing, matching luggage and car accessories, home charging and energy collection solutions, and data-driven maintenance and upgrade services offered through our proprietary in-vehicle communications, smart-phone and digital wearables mobile applications.

Similarly for our Franchisees, we will be able to offer a broad range of follow-on products and services to ensure recurring revenue from their e-Drive Retro conversion clients. What starts as a niche-play in order to enter the upper end of the luxury retro-lifestyle market now to establish a positive and differentiated brand image, will become a recognized and authoritative brand in the e-Drive Retrofitting of tens of thousands of vehicles worldwide.

Market

The target market as we have defined it begins with the demographics of the customers that we believe will be buyers of these converted vehicles:

  • Baby-boomers (lifestyle nostalgia) and/or environmentally-friendly affluent car enthusiasts
  • Located in the Nordic, European and North American geographic regions
  • Already own, or desire (plan to buy with 12-24 months), one of the target vehicles
  • Household income of €150,000+
  • Environmentally aware but not ‘Fundamentalist’
  • Professional males and females (not DIY types or backyard mechanics)

Management estimates that the number of the most appropriate styles of vehicles that could be converted globally (i.e. our target market) is approximately 1.8 million vehicles. This figure is based upon the number of vehicles manufactured from 1950 to 1979 and then adjusted to estimate the number that are still available for street use.
