Booktrope is a team publishing platform and a social marketing engine for books of all kinds. We free the creative team (authors, editors, designers) and marketing partners to work on what they do best — create and market the best book possible.
Booktrope has reinvented the way books are published and marketed - a $16 billion business in flux with over 50% of revenue shifting from physical bookstores to ebooks / online sales in about 5 years, so there's plenty of opportunity.
Our model, team publishing (described at Booktrope.com), is different than traditional publishing or self-publishing. Each book is produced an autonomous creative team (author, editors, designer, marketing manager, others when needed). We've drastically reduced overhead by virtualizing editorial and book production workflow, and by compensating team members with a share of revenue from book sales. Our model preserves quality by including professional editing and design on a creative team for each book.
