We discover the best through personal/professional recommendations. Sites like LinkedIn generate few recs (avg profile has <1 rec?), because it takes too long to be thoughtful and unique. Reverse that and employers/recruiters waste too much time sifting through resumes, so by ranking results every time, we speed up the process of finding top talent quickly.
What Sets Us Apart
We're leveraging the viral nature of recommendations - you recommend me, I recommend you. Plus email, tweet or FB share your rankings or even embed your rankings or add a Recmnd.Me button on your personal website or blog. Since we've built the site on APIs, we're also ready to integrate with Facebook and others or move quickly to mobile and international. Our Keys To Success
We have two experienced co-founders, who know how to scale apps. Our two-sided business model (simplified recs and ranked results) has a good UI with game-like behavior (who wouldn't want to be #1 for their profession or location?). We're not reliant on FB (~BranchOut) and it would take some time for the bigger players to rework how they do recs and then leverage those for simplified rankings. Klout & Identified score on superficial activity - tweets, followers and referrals to their site.
