When our son was nearing graduation from high school we started looking for ways that he could become self-sufficient. There were little or no opportunities for him so we looked at business that could be used to offer student with disabilities some hope. We were startled by the 97% unemployment rate of people with disabilities. We feel that we can use our coffee company to partner with other agencies and organization to address this issue. What Sets Us Apart
Our company is in the process of partnering with other establishments, agencies and originations to address these issues and to develop a program that fills that gap for our local high school students with disabilities. We are developing relationships with the community to facilitate a better understanding of what it is these young adults are capable of. We also roast a great cup of coffee!

Our Accomplishments
We are working on our master roaster certification and have been roasting coffee for four years. We have completed a test market evaluation and have accumulated most of the equipment we will need to start our coffee roasting business. We are currently working to identify the barriers to individuals with disabilities and to collaborate with agencies and the community and in an effort to support these individuals with work experience.
